Today in worship we are engaging with another category of psalms: “Imprecatory Psalms”
These are psalms expressing anger, frustration, or hopelessness because of real or perceived attack/persecution against us. They call on God for justice, sometimes even asking Him to harm others.
It is best to understand that these are valid expressions of the human heart under stress-even if in the end we recognize God is not going to do evil things to others.
